Dornoch is situated two miles to the east of the A9 north of Inverness.

Dornoch Farmers` Market takes place on High Street behind Dornoch Cathedral. You can walk from the Castle Hotel across the green and through the church yard to the market. The  market is at the Mercat Cross which is the historic site of fairs in the burgh. Behind the cemetery wall is the Plaiden Ell which was the stone used to measure cloth at the fairs.

There are car parks in Dornoch  within easy walking distance of the market.  A good place to park is in the square in front of the Dornoch Jail.
