Dornoch Farmers` Market takes place regularly on the historic market site behind the walls of Dornoch Cathedral.  East Sutherland Producers operate the market.

East Sutherland Producers believe in the aims of Scottish Government 2008 that

`Our vision of food in Scotland is that it should make the nation healthier, wealthier and smarter with production making communities stronger and consumption respecting the local and global environment.`

At  Dornoch Farmers` Market our produce is healthy and tasty.  We offer fresh local food in season which is rich in variety and has not accumulated food miles.  It is naturally produced in the pure Northern Highland air.

Market gardens in areas not far from Dornoch, such as in Brora and Tain, supply seasonal and year-round herbs, salad, vegetables and fruit that are freshly picked.

On crofts and farms, livestock-rearing members of East Sutherland Producers offer, lamb and pork.  Eggs of different types are always available including fresh duck eggs. Poultry can be ordered.

In the sheltered gardens around Dornoch fruit is grown and bees are kept so that  we can offer preserves and honey that resound with character.

Our homebakers tempt us with delicious savoury and sweet products.

An exciting collection of hardy Sutherland cultivated plants and herbs are on sale throughout the season.

An established bakery member often  joins us bringing along bread and related specialities.

Market dates for the 2009 season are listed under "Market Dates."
